Description of the equipment
The Straddle Carrier (also known as RGT-RUBBER TYRED GANTRY) is designed for lifting and transporting large and heavy loads.
A straddle structure on two legs supports the lifting appliances (trolleys and blocks).
The hoisting winches are positioned at the base of the legs (easily accessible), the wire rope spools on a single layer, ensuring longer life to the rope itself.
On the lower longitudinal elements the following are positioned:
• Control cab
 • Thermal-engine group
• Wheel holder groups
Normally, 50% of the wheel groups are driven, and depending on work requirements or a specific request, all four groups can be motorised.
Standard steering is 90° on two wheels.
If requested all wheel groups can be steered permitting:
• the Straddle Carrier to traverse
• crab steering
• steer on itself
The Mobilift can be supplied with spreader upon request, the spreader can have fixed or variable lifting points.
