a. CANTILEVER LAUNCHING GANTRY (for P.C. segments)
Description of the equipment
The equipment is designed to place pre-compressed reinforced concrete segments used for the construction of road viaducts following the “cantilever” construction method (the viaduct  is built with overhangs in respect to the pier).
The framework consists of two lattice trusses having a triangular section, the ends of which are connected via horizontal bracings.
These trusses work also as runways from the winch trolley which hoists and transports the concrete segments.
The longitudinal displacement of the launching gantry (also called self-launch) is achieved via capstans mounted on the winch trolley.
By anchoring the trusses or the winches alternatively the winch trolley (and the segment with it) or the launching gantry are moved respectively.
